About this event

With AI showing great depth of promise to transform the global business landscape, we ask the question of how CEO attitudes towards AI vary and how embracing this technology positively impacts competitive advantage.

Now in its fifth consecutive year, the HLB Survey of Business Leaders is an annual global piece of research, capturing insight into today’s most pressing business issues through conversations with senior executives from mid-market-sized companies. We surveyed nearly 1,000 C-suite executives from across the globe to understand the business challenges they face in 2024, and explored an angle around AI technologies their role in creating business opportunities.

Join us as we will reveal the 2024 findings of our survey. HLB CEO Marco Donzelli and a panel of AI business experts will engage in a panel discussion to answer your questions around AI and competitive advantage. Afterwards, the evening programme leaves plenty of room for networking with the panel speakers and other guest.

Marco Donzelli

CEO, HLB International

Marco has been CEO of HLB International since 2017 and drives the network’s mission to ensure HLB cements its position as a global player in the professional services sector. His international experience and curious, entrepreneurial personality make him a forward-thinking leader for the network.

Marco is a champion for diversity and inclusion in the workforce, as well as being an advocate for workplace flexibility, and drives HLB's purpose as well as its growth strategy. In addition to his role at HLB, Marco is a mentor for technology start-ups at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Sanjeevan Bala

Group Chief Data & AI Officer, ITV plc

Sanjeevan is ITV’s Group Chief Data & AI Officer and is responsible for transforming the integrated published broadcaster to fully leverage the value of Data, AI and Web3 capabilities to create value for Content IP Businesses in how they Produce, Promote, Distribute and Monetise content.

He has spent time across numerous sectors including, Retail, Banking, Pharmaceuticals, Energy and Multi Sided Marketplaces. He has combined his experience in large corporations with building and scaling a number of startups in Silicon Valley. Sanjeevan has been recognised as the most influential person in Data (by DataIQ) and a thought leader internationally as his work has won numerous awards, innovations and patents.

He also leads and chairs a number of industry communities across Data, AI and Web3 to foster collaboration and adoption. He has complemented his executive career with a Non-Executive Director (NED) role on a FTSE business.

Dr. David Stillwell

Professor of Computational Social Science, University of Cambridge

Dr. David Stillwell is Professor of Computational Social Science at Judge Business School in the University of Cambridge. He is also Academic Director of the Psychometrics Centre.

David studies the links between big data and psychology; his research with 6 million social media users found that the computer can predict a user’s personality as accurately as their spouse can. Follow up research found that personalising an advert to the recipient’s psychology is more effective than generic ads.

David is currently researching how creative AI Large Language Models are compared to humans.

Dr. George Cevora

Chief Technology Officer, CleverChain

George has a strong track record of delivering cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence solutions to industry leaders across a wide range of sectors. He has spent the last ten years at the forefront of AI research, and possesses a deep understanding of the strengths, weaknesses and potential of the technologies.

He excels in bridging the gap between business needs and academic research; his work to create pragmatic solutions has delivered measurable value to businesses ranging from global enterprises to fast-growing start-ups.

George holds a PhD in Theoretical Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge.

Lesley Hornung

Chief Marketing Officer, HLB International

HLB’s Chief Marketing Officer and programme lead for HLB’s Global Survey of Business Leaders.

Lesley regularly speaks at HLB’s international and regional conferences to shape and deliver HLB’s global marketing strategy. Lesley holds an MSc. in International Marketing from King’s College London, has a BA in Communications, and a Propaedeutic Diploma in Journalism. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
