About Raymond Cheng

Prof. Raymond Cheng is Chairman of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng in Hong Kong, where he leads the firm and its Regulatory & Financial Industries Group. Having trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a Big Four firm in London, Raymond has extensive experience in corporate audit, with particular expertise in the financial services sector.

Raymond advises listed companies and other organisations on regulatory reporting, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and special investigations. He has significant experience acting as reporting accountant and auditor for IPOs and companies listed in Hong Kong and on international exchanges.

Raymond is a member of both the HLB International Executive Committee and Council, contributing to the strategic direction and development of the global network.

A longstanding contributor to the accounting profession, Raymond served as President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) in 2020-2021 and held numerous leadership positions within the Institute. He is also Adjunct Professor in the Department of Accountancy at City University of Hong Kong.

Raymond is a Fellow of both the ICAEW and HKICPA and a Certified Tax Adviser in Hong Kong.
