HLB Brighter Futures

Cambridge University Leadership Programme

HLB’s partnership with Cambridge Judge Business School is one of the network’s most prestigious strategic commitments. Each year, we bring together twenty managing partners of the future to examine strategy & leadership in professional services at the highest level.

This is not a training programme; it is a deliberate investment in the people who will lead the network’s next chapter. The alumni community is steadily growing, and their shared experience and perspective is shaping how HLB thinks and operates.

Our 'Brighter Futures Community' runs alongside this initiative, working together to ensure that the pipeline into the profession is as broad and diverse as the network’s ambitions demand.

HLB Engage

ATA Conference, Mexico City, July 2025

HLB Engage brought a cohort of fifteen professionals together in person in Mexico City for an immersive programme focused on building commercial capability.

Delivered in partnership with Rainmakers and coordinated with the broader HLB Advisory-Tax-Audit (ATA) conference programme, HLB Engage honed in on the skills required to develop business, from navigating complex RFP processes to articulating the full power of HLB’s global network.

Bringing this cohort together in person was a deliberate choice; the relationships formed, the confidence built, and the shared understanding of HLB’s commercial proposition designed to have a lasting impact well beyond the conference itself.

Spotlight: Coursera partnership

Building the critical skills our firms need for the future remains a central focus of HLB’s global strategy. Through our partnership with Coursera, we provide access to virtual learning that supports the ongoing development of our people across the network. This approach enables our professionals to strengthen both technical expertise and broader capabilities, ensuring they are equipped to respond to the changing demands of our clients and the wider business environment.

As reflected across our member firms, this commitment to learning is embedded at a local level:

“HLB’s relationship with Coursera reflects our commitment in the UAE to developing our people. With courses ranging from foundational to leadership level, the platform provides an inclusive space for our employees to learn and grow, both within their current roles and for the roles of the future.” Jay Krishnan, Senior Partner, People & Culture, HLB HAMT

This investment in learning reflects the values that underpin our purpose. We place strong emphasis on curiosity, a growth mindset, and personal accountability for development, recognising that these behaviours are essential to building effective leaders. By creating opportunities for continuous learning and encouraging our people to take ownership of their development, we continue to strengthen the capabilities of our network and support long-term, sustainable success.

AI Masterclass

With over 1,200 professionals engaging from member firms across 53 countries, HLB’s AI Masterclass was one of our network’s most successful learning initiatives to date. The experience was designed with one clear purpose: to build practical AI capability at scale, ensuring our people can use and apply AI as a genuine working skill, not just understand it in theory.

Delivering the masterclass in 16 languages reflected our commitment to accessibility - making AI literacy available across the full breadth of the network regardless of geography or language. In a profession being reshaped by technology, building this capability now, and building it inclusively, is an imperative which can form the foundation of future innovation.
