About Marco Donzelli
Marco Donzelli has served as the Global CEO of HLB International since 2017, leading the network with a strategic vision that has propelled HLB to a top 8 global ranking in the professional services sector. Recognised in the 2024 Top 50 Kindness in Leadership list, Marco is celebrated for his empathetic and people-centred approach, which fosters collaboration and innovation across the network.
Marco’s academic achievements include an MBA from the University of Cambridge, a MSc Summa cum Laude from the University of Naples, and a Non-Executive Director Diploma from the Financial Times. His educational background complements his entrepreneurial mindset and international experience, which have been instrumental in driving the network’s growth and enhancing its global reach.
With a career that began at Deloitte, Marco went on to spend six years in commercial and change management roles at Deutsche Bank. He later ventured into technology entrepreneurship and management consultancy before joining HLB in 2012 as Head of Strategic Network Development. He became Chief Operating Officer in 2015, significantly contributing to the organisation’s expansion through exceptional leadership and a focus on cross-border business development.
Beyond his professional achievements, Marco is committed to developing future leadership and innovation. He mentors start-ups and entrepreneurs through impactful programmes such as Techitalia, the Cambridge Master of Entrepreneurship and the Barclays Eagle Lab programme His efforts show his dedication to empowering others within and beyond the professional services sector.
